The Time We Created an Ouija Board

So I wanted to post this during Halloween season but it totally slipped my mind and now I decided to just throw it out there.

I grew up with my cousin being my bestie ever since we were babies, we used to cry to our parents just so they would take us to meet up.

Planning how to take my doll

We used to have slumber parties every once in awhile in each other’s houses and that time it was in my place. We were four girls by that time, me and my sister, she and her sister and I remember I was 16 or 15. We decided to try something for fun which was an Ouija board because back then everyone was talking about it. Now we didn’t have an actual board, we created one with a piece of paper and a coin. We wrote all that letters and everything else basically, think of it as the arab version of it … clearly cheap one.

One of us kept her index finger lightly on this coin and glide it over the letters of this paper, we took turns in keeping our finger. We can easily fake this but for some reason we were too terrified of this .. game as we called it.

We started talking to a ghost/demon/entity whatever you want to call it and it revealed that his name was Asad (which means Lion in Arabic) and we were asking random questions for fun. Anyway by the end we decided to stop and we were about to close the gate or whatever it’s called, the coin spelled “Kill” and we totally freaked out and left the room with that piece of paper and coin.

Basically we noped the f@#$ out of that room and didn’t enter it till the next day. We decided to burn the paper because we were so convinced that some weird things has started to happen in that room like random knocking on the closet door at night, was because of this paper. Honestly I think we were just scaring ourselves because when you think about something as if it’s the cause of this, you won’t get any other excuse else than that.

The gist of the story, I realized I didn’t have that sensitivity to paranormal activities from this issue because others would be seeing, hearing and feeling things happening around them .. except for me. Ghosts hate me …

Day 29. Halloween Inspiration

Day 30. A Day In The Life

Off to work while trying not to wake my son and husband which was quite hard because I was stumbling as I walked since I was up at night till 2 am playing Bioshock.

Had to drive my husband’s FJ because my car is at the the service center, I swear I didn’t do anything.

Reached my work place and trying not to get blinded by the pink building.

Back from work and my workout start by running after this munchkin since I wake up from my afternoon nap till it’s bedtime at 10.

After I finally got him to sleep, I spent my night watching House on Netflix and finishing up an article I was writing for

Games To Revisit In October

I have an annual tradition in October to play horror games since it’s the spooky season so I have a special list of games I always revisit. We don’t really celebrate Halloween in my country, the only reason we get excited about it is because Pumpkin Spice Lattes actually. I thought of sharing my list of games that I always revisit during this season and maybe you’ll give me recommendations to try out.

Neverending Nightmares (PC)

It’s an interesting game which is inspired by the lead designer of this game Matt Gilgenbach’s personal struggles with obsessive–compulsive disorder and depression. What I love about it is the art style, it’s hand drawn line art and I’ve never seen a game that uses that I think.

The game lacks dialogue so it leaves the player to interpret what’s happening as the story progresses. The game explores a depressed mind and showcases nightmares, and self-harm scenes which can be a bit gory. It’s a great game in my opinion and I recommend checking it out.

Dino Crisis 2 (PSone)

One of my personal favorite survival horror games and can I just say Regina’s hair is goals, seriously she made me want to have red hair like her. I played this game around the time I watched Jurassic Park movies so I was deeply into the whole dinosaurs gimmick back then. I still replay this game because it’s one of the PSone classics along side with Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

I wouldn’t consider this game to be survival horror as it has few elements that define it to be a bit more action adventure oriented at the same time. The gameplay is almost similar to Resident Evil, the camera angles are horrible but not frustrating like some games. The story is really interesting even though I didn’t play the first part to understand some points of the game but it’s not that hard to keep up, it’s an amazing game I highly recommend trying it out.

Siren (PS2)

I’ve played quite a number of weird games and this is one of them yet I still enjoy it. Japanese horror games were at its’ peak during the PS2 days and this one got my attention because of the unique graphics and creepy storyline.

The game uses the butterfly effect in mission objectives in each stage to progress into the next stage which is played out in the perspective of ten survivors.

Siren is set in a Japanese village named Hanuda. With strong religious beliefs important in the area, the locals like to keep to themselves and have sought to keep Hanuda isolated from the outside world. Following the interruption of a ritual near Hanuda, and a subsequent earthquake, the village teeters between time and space, with an infinite sea of red water replacing the mountainous territory. The crux of the story focuses on the efforts of Hisako Yao, the leader of the local religion, to resurrect or re-awaken a god through a ceremony. The ‘Siren’ of the title is the god’s call, summoning Hanuda’s residents to immerse themselves in the red water, thus creating an army of subordinates called shibito “corpse people”. The shibito then go about building a nest to house the god’s corporeal form once it is summoned, as well as killing and converting any remaining humans left in Hanuda.

These are the games I would recommend checking them out for October, I’m planning to make this a series for each month where I list three games from my gaming experiences since I played way too many games and I would like to share them.

October Blogging Challenge – Week 1

I got inspired (totally ripped off Lise’s blog post) to do the October blogging challenge because I’m really such an original blogger. Apart from the pun, it seemed like an interesting challenge to do. I’ll post week by week though instead of everyday since I like posting other content and I don’t want to bore you my lovely readers.

Day 1. October Goals

Ever since I became a mother, it’s hard focusing on a goal I want to achieve in a month. If I had to put a goal for it, I want this month to be drama free because I’m sick of my coworker being a bitch to me for no logical reason. I want to be more positive and avoid my constant negative thinking, even though there’s this massive hate aura coming this person. I love being hated like this … honestly.

Day 2. OOTD

It’s not an outfit of the day, it’s more of “I’m too lazy to wear something decent”
I love this over-sized pusheen top and Assassin’s Creed lounge pants.

Day 3. The Story Behind The Blog Name

I’m going to confess something, I talk to myself quite a lot and I’ve been caught doing that by several people then I’ll have to convince them somehow that I’m not insane. I began writing on this blog for that reason, I want to vent out my thoughts to anyone who cares and interested in what I want to say. Sometimes being married and a mother gives an isolated feeling and I miss talking to people so I write everything here whether it’s an unpopular opinion or not.

Day 4. Who Inspires You

To write ? In my case it’s not who but what, what inspires me to write on this blog is mostly my thoughts and emotions.

Day 5. 5 Things About You

  1. I buy things online and never really use them, the main reason I’ve been called a certified money waster.
  2. I hated makeup because I considered it to be rocket science before. My sister kept teaching me for years and I kept ignoring her, are you proud of me now sis ?
  3. Last year I dyed my hair green & blue, orange & pink, purple ombre with a brown hair and completely blonde. That’s why my hair was damaged and I’m pretty sure someday it’ll grow hands and slap me, I fixed it though with Brazilian Blowout so .. we cool.
  4. I wrote fanfictions …. Ages ago I swear.
  5. I still sleep with a plushy animal in my arms.

Day 6. Thankful Thursday

Day 7. A Day In The Life

It’s Friday and it’s the weekend with us, in case you didn’t know our weekend is on Friday and Saturday. I didn’t really sleep well so I was already looking like a zombie and I wasn’t really planning to change that image, zombified mother mode activated.

By 11:00 in the morning I decided to go to Lush and check if they got the new Halloween products because I was really looking forward to it. The moment I reached there, the only new thing I saw was the Lava Lamp bath bomb and nothing halloween-ish was there which was quite disappointing but I bought few bath bombs and a bubble bar and I’ll post a proper haul entry in the upcoming days. I also decided to check Bath & Body Works, at least they had few cute halloween items in the store. I bought few candles and a shower gel which I’ll post about tomorrow hopefully.

Few days ago I bought a Furby for my son but honestly I’m the only one who keeps playing with it. It’s just too cute.

By afternoon, my son was having a nap and I decided to FINALLY register on Netflix. I know I’m too late on this bandwagon, I had alternatives to be honest but I recently decided to use a device my husband bought last year and I haven’t really used it that much. It’s the WD TV Live device which can play media from a usb storage and it also has few online features such as YouTube, Spotify and of course Netflix.

I watched Coraline, I love this movie too much.

By evening, the time passed by fast. I decided to try out the bath bomb Lava Lamp since I’ve never tried it before.

And that’s pretty much it, I used to go out more often in the weekend but that all change when I became a mother. Also my husband is travelling so I feel guilty leaving my son alone with his grandmother or sisters in law.
